Description
Bansi Mahajan, who prefers to be called a truth seeker and nothing more, shared both his published writings and his fascinating life experiences with Swami Chidananda. Together, these form the basis of this book.
Bansiji wrote many philosophical essays regularly, most of which appeared in print under The Speaking Tree in The Times of India and in The Economic Times. His contributions to philosophical literature constitute the first part of this book, comprising the first twenty-nine chapters.
The second part, consisting of the remaining eleven chapters, covers his early years in Jalandhar, when he often spent time in the company of wise people much older than himself and enjoyed their sharing of mature perspectives. It also recounts his rich experience as a publisher and editor of a unique monthly magazine on psychology called The Psychiatrist. Further, it narrates how he met several saints and eminent business personalities in Mumbai, where he moved in the mid-1980s, his travels around the world, the many interesting people he encountered everywhere, his joy in adopting a spiritual outlook towards life’s situations, and his interactions with several saints.
Throughout the pages of this book, there is a special emphasis on lifelong learning, staying motivated, understanding human psychology, and embracing liberating spirituality. With ample references to the Bhagavad Gita, he draws deeply from his vast fund of general knowledge. Swami Chidananda has edited both parts and refined the material to make it more appealing and accessible to a wider audience, including today’s youth.
