ABOUT THE BOOK :Prasna tantra, an English translation of which is herewith presented, is a treatise on horary astrology, written by Neelakanta Daivagnya . According to some authorities, it is not an independent treatise, but a part of Neelakanta’s larger work Tajaka neelakanteeya, being the 3rdof last Tantra of division, the other two being samgnatantra (preliminaries and Varshatantra (the annual horoscope).

ABOUT THE AUTHOR :B.V. Raman (August 8, 1912 ? December 20, 1998) was aninfluential Indian astrologer and author who was instrumental in popularizingVedic astrologyglobally. He founded theIndian Council of Astrological Sciences(ICAS) and theRaman & Rajeswari Research Foundation, and editedThe Astrological Magazinefor over six decades.

?Astrological work: Raman dedicated his life to the study of astrology and is credited with bringing it to the attention of the modern, educated public. He sought to demonstrate its scientific basis and predictive power through his writings and lectures.
?Leadership and organizations: He founded the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (ICAS) in 1984 to promote and regulate the teaching of Vedic astrology. He also established the Raman & Rajeswari Research Foundation with his sons to further the study of astrology and Vastu Shastra.
?Journalism: Starting in 1936, he editedThe Astrological Magazinefor over 62 years, which became a leading publication in its field. Through the magazine, he made numerous predictions about world events, including the Second World War and India’s Independence, earning him a reputation for deep insight.
?Background and education: Born into a family with a strong astrological tradition, his grandfather was a renowned astrologer and founder ofThe Astrological Magazine. Despite his traditional astrological training, he also pursued and obtained a formal degree in Economics from Central College, Bangalore.
