It gives me pleasure to learn that the Ph.D. Thesis entitled ‘The Lexicographical Works of Anundoram Borooah with Special Reference to his English-Sanskrit Dictionary’ by Dr.Mandakini Mahanta is being published under the title ‘Modern Lexicography in Anundoram Borooah’s English-Sanskrit Dictionary. This work containing five chapters deals with different aspects of Sanskrit Lexicography after Anundoram Borooah, the great Assamese Sanskrit scholar of international repute. The author of the present work Dr. Mandakini Mahanta has dealt with the Lexicographical works of Anundoram Borooah with critical and comparative study. In lucid and correct English, Dr.Mahanta tries to do justice to the works and in doing so, she has been successful and this will, I believe and affirm that the lovers of Sanskrit Lexicography will be benefitted by this work of Mahanta. I appreciate her for working on such an important topic.
