Description
Rik Pratishakhya is of extraordinary importance for the knowledge of the nature of the language of Rigveda. Similarly, Ashtadhyayi also has the same extraordinary importance for the knowledge of Vedic words in cosmic and context. If Rik Pratishakhya can be mainly called the grammar of the language of Rigveda. So Ashtadhyayi has to be considered as the grammar of cosmic and Vedic language in general. As much as the study of Rik-Pratishakhya is useful for the student of Vedas, the study of Ashtadhyayi is also very useful for him. There are many episodes in Rik Pratishakhya and Ashtadhyayi in which there is sufficient similarity in many sources from the point of view of legislation etc. This book is a humble effort in this direction. A detailed comparative study of both the texts has been done in this book. Along with this, references have also been made to related equivalent sources of grammars of other Pratishakhyas and other Acharyas other than Panini. This mention will act as a source of inspiration for other comparative studies. Apart from this, the theoretical differences between these two texts have also been explained here.
